| The Hospitaller Foundation of California, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3)
non for profit organization, as specified by the Internal Revenue Service tax laws,
the sole purpose of which is to raise, receive and disperse funds
to support the Capital Building Fund and the Patient Care Fund for
the following entity:
1) Brothers of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, Inc. Los
Angeles, aka St. John of God Nursing Hospital and Residence, Inc.
(L.A.).
In the future, as the Foundation Board shall decide, the above
purpose may also be exercised on behalf of:
1) St. Joseph's Health and Retirement Center (Ojai)
2) St. Mary Desert Valley Hospital Inc. (Apple Valley)
3) Brothers of St. John of God, Inc., U.S.A. Provincial Administration
(L.A.)
All funds, whether monetary or real, received from private donors,
foundations, corporations, annual and special benefits, general
mailings or any other fund raising activity will be deposited as
assets of the Foundation.
Funds designated for a specific purpose and entity will be used
only for such specific purpose and entity. The Foundation will,
therefore, direct all such designated funds according to the intention
of the donor.
The funds are held in trust by the foundation.
The Foundation is governed by the voting members of its Board of
Directors currently consisting of 17 persons. The Foundation Board
will be assisted by non-voting advisory committee members.
The voting members of the Board and non-voting advisory committee
members of the Foundation will work in unison with the Development
Office in all efforts seeking donations and raising funds for the
Foundation.
