St. Richard Pampuri residential care facility

Purpose and Objectives

The new facility complements and enhances the services offered at St. John of God. Over the years the campus had developed excellent independent living and skilled nursing services. However, an addition level of care was needed to serve those residents who could no longer live independently but who did not need skilled nursing. St. Richard Pampuri Residential/Assisted Living was designed and constructed to meet such a need.

St. Richard Pampuri is a mixture of studio and one and two bedroom apartments, with common areas consisting of dining rooms, lounges, library, beauty shop and wellness center. Basic services include weekly housekeeping, three meals a day and assistance with medications. Assorted recreational and transportation programs are also provided.

The Residential Care Facility is staffed 24 -hours a day, seven days per week. Each resident has the assurance of knowing that whatever assistance is needed is provided by competent and caring staff. Dedicated long-term care professionals supervise all services.

On May 2, 2002 this beautiful facility was dedicated and our dear elderly are now enjoying its programs.

Donor Wall

The central appointment of the lobby is the Fountain of Peace Waterfall. Designed especially for this project, its intent is to welcome residents, family and friends into this special place of spiritual peace and tranquility.

Fitness Center

The sunlit Fitness Center is a vital component in the continuum of care. We encourage our residents to stay active. In addition to the physical benefits, regular exercise has shown to help seniors maintain and improve mental and emotional health; it elevates mood and prevents depression.

The swimming pool and spa provide an opportunity for exercise, recreation, relaxation and socialization. The facility meets the special needs of residents who cannot engage in high impact aerobics.

Main Dining Room

Designed to be one of the focal points of the residents’ day, the Main Dining Room is spacious and sunlit allowing all to face the outside gardens.

The Bistro Terrace is a special place where residents are able to create and prepare meals as well as entertain friends and loved ones.

The Snug

At the entrance to the Main Dining Room is a special area called “The Snug.” As the name implies, the Snug is a place of friendship and hospitality. Residents use this intimate gathering area for socializing with guests, family members and each other.

Resident Apartments - A home within a home

The homelike apartments create an environment in which people feel welcomed, secure, esteemed and loved. There are three spacious configurations of resident apartments: Studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom. Each is designed for one or two residents.

:
Creativity and Enrichment - People of all ages enjoy personal expression.

The art facility that includes ceramics and painting studios provides the opportunity for new adventures in creativity for our residents. The well lit and inviting surroundings stimulate the artist in all of us.

A sense of belonging is important to everyone and the Media Center enables residents to stay in touch with friends, families and the outside community. The Center is equipped with the latest technology in computers, the Internet and entertainment. It also has an Optelec Low Vision Reading System for those suffering from macular degeneration, a condition characterized by gradual loss of eyesight.

The Library provides resident with a quiet comfortable space for reflection, research, writing and recreation.
